In Transit
With Brazilian Choreographer and Contemporary ballet dancer : Dandara Amorim Veiga.
In Transit is exploring the relationship of bringing a physical body to my paintings and illustrations. Within both, you can see they are inspired by movement, body forms, emotions, and what it means to reclaim our natural instincts as human beings. I started this project in New York City in the midst of the pandemic back in 2021.
Innocent like a child
Free like a river
Wild like the forest
And strong like a mountain
Listen to the lullaby of the Mother Earth
She is singing for you and me
For all her children struggling to survive
And I surrender
Surrender to the earth
And it’s gravity
Human
What a mystery
Flesh and bones
Pain and pleasure
Black and white
Life and death
